I am looking for a specific kind of HEP dataset and I was wondering wether it’s possible to extract something like that from the ATLAS open data.
I basically want a different version of the Omnifold dataset (Large version of the OmniFold dataset | Zenodo), i.e. one process (or more, but doesn’t have to be) simulated by two different generators with particle-level (post hadronization, but without any detector effects) truth information and reco-level information.
As far as I can see truth information is mostly parton-level in the ATLAS open data, correct?

We (ATLAS) literally (I mean 5 minutes ago) made this new dataset public:
So you might see if that does the job for you?
Otherwise, it is quite uncommon these days to release all the particle-level information (because it’s big) in reconstructed samples. None of the ‘light-weight’ formats we release normally have all that information; we have processed it down to something much lighter (e.g. truth jets and MET only, but not all hadrons). If you really need all particle-level information and reco information, then I think some of the older CMS open data samples might be your best bet. I think you’d need at least miniaod:
But I’m not expert, so you might want to either post in a CMS-specific channel here or reach out to their help lists if that’s the way you want to go. ATLAS right now have only reduced truth information with reco samples or full truth information with generator output samples.
