Adding a category for ATLAS

Hi there!

Since we have the first release of open data for research, we’d like to join you all in providing support for open data here in Discourse. Would you be so kind as to add an ATLAS category?

Also, it looks at the moment like someone needs a GitHub or CERN SSO account to be able to log in. Would you be comfortable adding support for Google authentication? Folks can two-step in (connect to GitHub via Google, then connect here via GitHub) already, so it would just provide a little easier access I think.

I have just created the category for ATLAS.

I will let the forum admins reply about the second part of your questions: google auth.

For the ATLAS category, would you be so kind as to update the description to:

Ask any question about ATLAS Open Data

And add the logo attached here?

That’s great! I made you moderator. I am not sure how to do it only for ATLAS category…so you are just overall “a moderator”…just so you know :wink:

Thanks! It looks like that’s sufficient karma to adjust the category description (done), but not enough to modify the header on the category in the way that was done for LHCb and CMS (so their nice logos appear at the top of the category page) — is that something you can do as admin?

Done! Added the logo. I was trying to see if I could somehow give you extra permissions to do those things…but I couldn’t find a way. Anyway, if you want me to do something else that you can’t as moderator, let me know and I will. Thanks Zach!

The Google authentication option is now activated. (Via the “Sign in with a social account” option on the CERN SSO login page.)
